Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday decided to sanction 3,215 posts of supervisors in the Women and Child Development department.

The state government also approved creation of 900-odd posts for the special courts to deal with the pendency of cases under the 13th Finance Commission.

The above decisions were taken by the state cabinet at its meeting presided by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Ujjaini village in Indore district where Narmada and Kshipra rivers were linked under the ambitious river-linking scheme implemented by the state government, official sources said.

The posts of supervisors will be filled through an examination to be conducted by the MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), they said.

Those working on contract at present in these posts will be given relaxation in age and other benefits for appearing in this examination.

The cabinet also decided to create 900 posts for the special courts to be set up till March 31, 2015 as per the recommendations of the 13th Finance Commission, to deal with the pendency of over five-year-old cases so that they can be disposed of at a faster pace, the sources said.

The government will also create 876 contractual posts of Data Entry Operators for the Revenue Department.

Among other decisions, the government also granted extension of six months to the Union Carbide Gas Leak Inquiry Commission till August 24, 2014.

The chief minister also announced the government will declare as “sacred place” the confluence of Narmada and Kshipra rivers at Ujjaini.
