1. Educational qualification:The candidates must have passed Madhyamik examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) or its equivalent examination from a recognised board.
2. Age limit: Age as of January 1 2015, the age of the candidates should not be less than 18 years and not more than 27 years.

Exam pattern:

1. The candidates will have to appear for four tests i.e. physical measurement test, physical efficiency test, written examination and interview to be conducted by the organisation. The candidates have to attempt 90 questions. The written examination will comprise of five subjects i.e.
2. General awareness and general knowledge: 30 marks
3. English: 24 marks
4. Elementary Mathematics: 15 marks
5. Reasoning: 12 marks
6. Computer Literacy: 9 marks
7. There will be negative marking for each answer.

• Pay scale:The candidates will be paid Rs 5,400 - 25,200 per month.

3. Pay Scale: The candidate will be paid a salary of Rs 5500 to Rs 25200 with a grade pay of Rs 2600 per month.
4. Eligibility Criteria:The candidate must have passed matriculation examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination from any other board recognized by the State Government or the Central Government.
5. Age: The eligible candidate must be aminimum of 18 years and a maximum of 27 years.
6. Selection Procedure: The candidate will be selected on the basis of a written examination, an interview and a medical test.
7. How to apply: The candidates can apply both online and offline. Candidates applying online can submit the form on the official website of West Bengal Police and can submit their application fee via net banking. The candidates applying offline must sent in their application through a proper channel.
