Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has invited applications to fill up job vacancies at the following posts:
  1. Sub Inspector in CAPFs
  2. ASI in CISF
  3. S.I. (Executive)-Male in Delhi Police 
  4. The candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria and are interested to apply can submit the forms by April 28. 
Selection process:
  • The candidates will be short listed on the basis of their performances in the written test, PET and the interview. Thereafter, the Commission will draw up an All India Merit List and, in that order, as many candidates as are found by the Commission to have qualified in the examination shall be recommended for appointment up to the number of unreserved vacancies available taking into consideration their options for the posts included in the examination. 
Written exam is scheduled to be conducted on June 21. 
The scheme of examination is shown below:
  • Paper I: (Two hours- 10 am to 12 noon)
  • Subject: No. of questions: Maximum Marks
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: 50: 50
  • General Knowledge and General Awareness: 50: 50
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 50: 50
  • English Comprehension: 50: 50
  • Paper II: (Two hours- 2 pm to 4 pm)
  • English language & Comprehension: 200 marks: 200 questions
  • Deduction of 0.25 marks will be made for each incorrect answer marked on OMR answer sheet. Questions in both papers will be of objective multiple choice type.
Physical Efficiency (Endurance) Test
  • For male candidates only
  • 100 meters race in 16 seconds
  • 1.6 kms race in 6.5 minutes
  • Long jump: 3.65 metres in 3 chances
  • High jump: 1.2 metres in 3 chances
  • Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 metres in 3 chances
  • For female candidates only
  • 800 metres race in 4 minutes
  • Long jump: 2.7 metres (9 feet) in 3 chances.
  • High jump: 0.9 metres (3 feet) in 3 chances.
Weight: Corresponding to height for all posts
Medical standard (for all posts)
  • Eye sight: The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction. The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision.
  • They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
  • Finally selected candidates for the posts of sub-inspector and assistant sub-inspector would, as part of training curriculum, have to pass seven obstacle events as mentioned below, failing which they may not be retained in the Force: 
  • Jumping over the vertical board; 
  • Holding the rope on jumping from the board;
  • Tarzan swing; 
  • Jumping on the horizontal board; 
  • Parallel rope; 
  • Monkey crawl; 
  • Vertical rope.

Border Security Force (BSF) has invited job applications for recruitment to the post of technical posts
(Group 'B' & 'C' combatised) of Sub-Inspector and Constable. Interested and eligible male candidates have to apply before July 14.

Vacancy details:

Total vacancies: 18 posts

1. Sub Inspector (Store Keeper): 1 post
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.9300-34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4200
  • Eligibility criteria: The candidate should hold a diploma in relevant branch of engineering and have 1 to 10 years of experience. The age of the candidate should be between 20 to 25 years.
2. Constable (Technical): 17 posts
  • CT (Auto Electrician): 5 posts
  • CT (Black Smith/ Tin Smith): 6 posts
  • CT (Vulcanize or Operator Tyre Repair Plant): 2 posts
  • CT (Upholster): 2 posts
  • CT (Store Keeper): 2 posts
Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.5200-20200 with GP of Rs.2000
  • Eligibility criteria: The candidate should have completed his or her Matriculation/Class 10 or equivalent and ITI in concerned trade. The candidate should have a minimum work experience of three years and his or her age should be between 18 to 25 years.
Selection procedure:
  • The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the two-staged selection process:
  • Stage I - Written exam: BSF will hold an All India Examination for recruitment to the various posts.
    Stage II - documentation, physical measurements, PET, practical test, interview and medical examination
Examination fee:
  • The candidates have to pay an examination fee of Rs 50 through a crossed 'Postal Order' or 'Bank Draft' drawn in favour of concerned IG and payable at concerned bank.
  • Candidates belonging to the SC/ ST and Ex-Servicemen category are exempted from payment of fees.

  • Interested and eligible candidates are supposed to send their applications along with detailed resume, two self-attested recent passport size photographs, copies of required certificates/ documents and two self-addressed, stamped envelopes to the nearest BSF center.

National Investigation Agency (NIA) has invited applications for recruitment to 13 posts of Inspectors and eight posts of Sub-Inspectors.
Selected candidates will be hired on a deputation after which they may be absorbed into NIA based on their performance. Vacancies are available at the Delhi, Guwahati and Mumbai branches. Last date for application is June 9, 2014.

Inspector: 13 posts
  • Classification of post: General Central Service Group 'B, Non-Gazetted Non-Ministerial
  • Salary: PB - 2 (Rs 9,300 - Rs 34,800) with Grade Pay of Rs 4,600
  • Eligibility: Candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university and two years of experience handling investigation of criminal cases or intelligence work or operations or have training in counter terrorism or have worked on regular basis in posts in the Pay Band-2 (Rs 9,300 - Rs 34,800 with Grade Pay of Rs 4,200) in the parent cadre or department for at least five years.
  • Duties: Accompanying the CIO (Chief Investigation Officer), being part of raid/search/seizure team, part of witness examination team, securing crime scene, execution of summon and warrant, dealing with court matter as required, collection of intelligence, ground verification of intelligence inputs, analysis of intelligence and any other duty assigned by the superior authority. 

Sub Inspector: Eight posts
  • Classification of the post: General Central Service Group 'B', Non-Gazetted Non-Ministerial
  • Salary: PB - 2 (Rs 9,300 - Rs 34,800) with Grade Pay of Rs 4,200
  • Eligibility: Candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university and two years of experience handling investigation of criminal cases or intelligence work or operations or have training in counter terrorism or have worked on regular basis in posts in the Pay Band -1 (Rs 5,200 - Rs 20,200 with Grade Pay of Rs 2,800) in the parent cadre or department for at least six years.
  • Duties: Accompanying the CIO (Chief Investigation Officer), being part of raid/search/seizure team, part of witness examination team, securing crime scene, execution of summon and warrant, dealing with court matter as required, collection of intelligence, ground verification of intelligence inputs, analysis of intelligence, guarding and security of the accused while in custody and any other duty assigned by the superior authority.
