State Bank of India has invited applications for recruitment to numerous posts of Specialist Officers. The candidates are to be short-listed on the basis of a written test, which was held on April 9, and an interview, which is scheduled on separate days for separate candidates.
  • The results for the written test have been announced. Besides, the interview call letter and bio-data form has also been released. In order to fetch the bio-data form, candidates are required to go to the official website of the bank. The candidates are required to download the bio-data form for interview from there.
  • The bio-data form is an eight-page document with various slots to be filled by candidates who have been called for the interview.
  • The interview is scheduled at centres in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Bangalore. There are various dates which have been fixed for the interviews. They are: June 23, June 24, June 25, June 26, June 27, June 28, July 2, July 3, July 4, July 7, July 8, July 9, July 10, July 11, July 12, July 14 and July 15.

Bank of BarodaBank of Baroda has released the list of candidates for recruitment as Specialist Officers - Project 2014 - 2015. The candidates were allotted to the Bank under CWE SPL-III by IBPS.
  • Candidates can check their results at http://www.bankofbaroda.com/careers_new/Results.asp
  • IBPS conducted CWE SPL-III for selection of personnel for Specialist Officer cadre. The exams were conducted on February 8 and 9, 2014 and interview by the participating banks in March and April.
  • The list contains Roll No's of 459 candidates-238 candidates are selected for the post of Agriculture Field Officer (Scale-I), 28 for the post of Chartered Accountant (Scale-II), 10 for the post of HR/Personnel Officer (Scale-I), 75 for the post of  I.T.Officer (Scale-I), 15 for the post of  I.T.Officer (Scale -II), 12 for the post of Law Officer (Scale-I), 27 for the post of Law Officer (Scale -II), 24 for the post of Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale-I), 25 for the post of Manager Credit (Scale-II)/Finance Executive (Scale-II) and 5 for the post of Marketing Officer (Scale-I).
  • The bank in its official notification has asked the selected candidates to keep all their relevant testimonials/ documents/ certificates ready for verification during appointment. An e-copy of the Digitally Signed appointment letters will be sent to the registered Email ID of these candidates.
  • Candidates are advised to visit the bank's website regularly for further notification on Verification of Documents, issuance of Appointment Letter, Pre-appointment Medical Examination etc. 
  • Punjab National Bank has released list of 163 candidates selected for interview through written test for the recruitment of Specialist Officers 2014-15 in different posts.
  • The Interviews are scheduled on May 26 and 27, 2014.
  • The written examinations were held on March 23, 2014.

  • Candidates can download the interview letter for the above mentioned website from May 19  to May 26.
  • Interview for the post of Manager (Industry)-Computer Science/It, Manager (Industry)-Electronics & Telecommunication, Manager (Industry)-Mechanical, Manager (Industry)-Textile, Officer (Printing Technologist) will be held on May 27 and the rest of the posts on the first day i.e May 26.
  • The list contains Roll No's of 163 candidates-6 candidates are shortlisted for interview for the post of Manager (Architect) Scale-II, 14 for the post of Manager (Civil Engineer) Scale-II, 16 for the post of Manager (Industry)- Chemical Scale-II, 16 for the post of  Manager (Industry)-Civil Scale-II 06 for the post of  Manager (Industry)-Computer Science/It Scale-II,15 for the post of Manager (Industry)-Electrical Scale-II, 10 for the post of Manager (Industry)-Electronics & Telecommunication Scale-II, 15 for the post of Manager (Industry)-Mechanical Scale-II, 15 for the post of Manager (Industry)-Textile Scale-II, 3 for the post of Manager (Mechanical Engineer) Scale-II, 23 for the post of Officer (Civil Engineer) Scale-I, 09 for the post of Officer (Electrical Engineer) Scale-I. 03 for the post of Officer (Mechanical Engineer) Scale-I and 15 for the post of Officer (Printing Technologist) Scale-I.
  • Venue of the Interview is Punjab National Bank, Central Staff College, 8 Underhill Road, Civil Lines, New Delhi. Candidates should report for the interview by 9 AM.
  • The process of Identity/document verification of candidates will start on receipt of dossiers from IBPS Mumbai.
  • The joining of the candidates, who have been allocated to the bank and found to be eligible in all respects, is likely to commence from second week of July, 2014 in order of merit and in phases thereafter, as per the joining schedule to be decided by the bank notified PNB.

Union Bank of India has invited applications for recruitment at the posts of Specialist Officers .  
The vacancy is notified at two posts: Economist and Security Officer. For the post of Economist, two vacancies (one for Scheduled Tribe category, one for general candidates) are available whereas for the post of Security officer, a total of 40 seats (three for Scheduled Tribe category, 6 for Scheduled Caste category, 11 for OBC category, 20 for general candidates) are available.
Candidates with the following educational qualification and work experience are eligible to qualify.
Economist:
Educational Qualification:
  • Graduate Degree in any discipline with 60 per cent marks (55 per cent for Reserved Category candidates applicable to the posts reserved for them) from a University/Institution/Board recognized by Govt. Of India/approved by Govt. Regulatory Bodies.  
  • Post Graduate Degree in Economics / Econometrics with 55 per cent marks (50 per cent for Reserved Category candidates - applicable to the posts reserved for them) from a  University/Institution/Board recognized by Govt. Of India/approved by Govt. Regulatory Bodies.
  • A Certificate for having completed a Course in Computer Awareness and Office Automation for duration of minimum 60 hours from a reputed Computer Training Institute, which will be waived where 'Computers' is a part of the curriculum at the Graduation / Post-Graduation Level.

Work Experience: 
  • A minimum of 3 years Post-Qualification work experience as an Economist/ Economic Officer/ Research Officer / Economic Analyst or equivalent in Scheduled Commercial Bank/ Public Sector Undertaking / Private organization in financial sector including mutual funds, insurance companies, brokerage house etc.

Security Officer:
Education Qualification:
  • Graduate degree in any discipline from a University/Institution/Board recognized by Govt. Of India/approved by Govt. Regulatory bodies.
  • A Certificate for having completed a Course in Computer Awareness and Office Automation, which will be waived where 'Computers' is a part of the curriculum at the Graduation/ Post-graduation level.
  • Work Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years as a Junior Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army or equivalent ranks in the Indian Air Force and India Navy or minimum 5 years as a Police officer not below the rank of inspector or as an Officer of identical ranks in parliamentary forces.
  • Candidates for both the posts should belong to an age group of 21 and 35 years. Age relaxation is available for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD category and ex-servicemen commissioned with military services, persons ordinarily domiciled in Kashmir or those affected in 1984 riots as per the government norms.
  • The date of passing the examination, which is reckoned for eligibility, will be the date appearing on the mark sheet/passing certificate. Candidates should indicate the percentage calculated to the nearest two decimals in the online application. Where CGPA/SGPA/OGPA is awarded, the same should be converted into percentage and indicated in online application.
  • The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honors/optional/additional optional subjects, if any.
  • This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/Grade is decided on basis of Honors marks only.
  • Candidates should have work experience as a full time and permanent employee.
  • Candidates claiming to have work experience should ensure that they submit documentary proof, i.e. Work Experience Certificates, whenever required by the Bank. The certificate(s) for the period given in the
  • Application should be issued under signatures of the Competent Authority of the respective employers, clearly stating the period, Post(s) held and nature of duties performed by them. Copies of Appointment Letters, Salary Certificates, Pay slip etc will not be accepted in lieu of work experience certificate and the candidate will not be allowed to participate in the process and his candidature can be cancelled at any stage, even after appointment.

  • The selection process usually comprises of Written Examination and/or Group Discussion and/or Personal Interview:

Written Examination:
  • The question paper will be divided into four sections comprising of questions from Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude Test, Professional knowledge, English language.
  • Each part will have 50 questions. While the Reasoning and English language part will carry 25 marks, Quantitative Aptitude part will have one mark for each question.
  • Professional knowledge part will carry the highest i.e. 100 marks.
  • Total Duration of Examination will be of 150 minutes. Total 200 Questions carrying 200 Marks.
  • For the post of Security Officers, instead of Quantitative Aptitude, there will be a test on General Awareness with special reference to Banking Industry of 50 questions carrying 50 marks.
  • The above tests except the test of English language will be available bilingually i.e. English and Hindi.
  •  
  • The examination follows negative marking. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If the total of the penalty for a test is in fraction, the marks obtained will be rounded off to the nearest integer.
  • If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.

Group Discussion (GD): 
  • A Group Discussion, if conducted, shall carry 50 marks and shall be held to assess the candidate's presentation skills, leadership qualities, inter-personal qualities, team spirit, etc. The minimum qualifying marks for the Group Discussion would be 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for Reserved Category Candidates).
  • Candidates not securing the minimum qualifying marks in the Group Discussion will be disqualified for selection at this stage itself.

Personal Interview: 
  • A Personal Interview of 50 marks shall be conducted to assess the candidates academic record, power of expression, clarity of thought, qualities of leadership, extracurricular activities, hobbies, general demeanor, behavior, communication skills, suitability for the post, etc. The minimum qualifying marks for the Personal Interview would be 50 per cent marks (45 per cent marks for Reserved Category Candidates).
  • Candidates not securing the minimum qualifying marks in the Personal Interview will be disqualified for selection. 
  •  Candidate shall be required to qualify in each Test, as per cut-off marks determined by the Bank on the basis of Performance in each test, subject to minimum marks in the aggregate of 200 marks which will be determined by the Bank based on the performance in the written test and the number of Vacancies.
  • After Written Test results, candidates shall be called for a Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3 for General / Unreserved Candidates and 1:5 in case of candidates belonging to the Reserved Categories.
