The Union Public Service Commission is inviting applications for job vacancies in different ministries. It will conduct recruitment by selection. The interested and eligible candidates may apply according to the prescribed instructions.

Eligibility criteria:

Educational qualification:

1. Scientist SB (Electrical): The candidates should have a Master's degree in physics (pure or applied) or computer science; or a Bachelor's degree in any of these disciplines- electrical, electronics, computer science and engineering, computer science and technology, telecommunication or radio physics.
2. Scientist SB (Non-destructive): The candidates should have a Master's degree in physics (pure or applied) or a degree in mechanical, metallurgical or electrical engineering.
3. Technical officer (Forestry): The candidates should have a Master's degree in any of these disciplines- statistics, operational research, economics, commerce or forestry. The candidates holding a two years' diploma in forestry management are also eligible.
4. Senior controller of mines: The candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.
5. Deputy director (Non-technical): The candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
6. Assistant professor (English): The candidates should have a Master's degree in English, with a minimum score of 55 percent. They should have cleared the NET or any equivalent examination.

Experience:

1. Scientist SB (Electrical): The candidates should have a minimum of three years' experience in the testing and evaluation of electrical stores, materials or measuring instruments in a recognised laboratory.
2. Scientist SB (Non-destructive): The candidates must have a minimum of three years' experience in non-destructive or metallographic techniques in testing evaluation.
3. Technical officer (Forestry): The candidates must have at least two years' experience in collection and compilation or analysis of data, including data in agriculture or forestry work.
4. Senior controller of mines: The candidates should have at least five years' experience in a supervisory capacity in metalliferrous mines.
5. Deputy director (Non-technical): The candidates must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in the textile industry.

Age limit:

• Scientist SB (Electrical): The upper age limit for candidates is 35 years
• Scientist SB (Non-destructive): The upper age limit for candidates is 35 years
• Technical officer (Forestry): The upper age limit for candidates is 30 years
• Senior controller of mines: The upper age limit for candidates is 40 years
• Deputy director (Non-technical): The upper age limit for candidates is 45 years
• Assistant professor (English): The upper age limit for candidates is 35 years

Pay scale:

• Scientist SB (Electrical): The selected candidates will receive a gross salary of approximately Rs 43,470
• Scientist SB (Non-destructive): The selected candidate will receive a gross salary of approximately Rs 43,470
• Technical officer (Forestry): The selected candidates will receive a gross salary of approximately Rs 28,773
• Senior controller of mines: The selected candidates will receive a gross salary of approximately Rs 45,954
• Deputy director (Non-technical): The selected candidate will receive a gross salary of approximately Rs 45,954
• Assistant professor (English): The selected candidate will receive a gross salary of approximately Rs 45,954

1. Selection procedure: The candidates will be selected on the basis of a recruitment by selection. However, for few posts a recruitment test and an interview may be conducted.
2. Application procedure: The candidates are required to apply online at the official websitewww.upsconline.nic.in. No other mode of application will be accepted.
3. Application fee: The candidates have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 25. The payment should be made by remitting the money at any branch of SBI or through net banking. There is no fee for SC, ST and PwD category candidates.

• Experience: The candidates applying for this post should have acquired at least 10 years of experience in a responsible capacity of work connected with Handloom or Textile Industry or Commerce or industry in general together with Secretariat/organisational Administrative experience.
• Age limit: The candidates applying for this post should not exceed the age limit of 45 years.
• Assistant professor (English): The candidates applying for this post should hold a good academic record with at least 55 per cent marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F at the Master's level in English. Or the candidates should have Post Graduate Diploma in teaching of English/English studies awarded by Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL) Hyderabad or equivalent.
