Western Railways begins recruitment 2014-2015 for 2 posts

Western Railway (WR), Mumbai, invited application for recruitment to 2 Group 'C' posts against Cultural Quota for the year 2014-2015. Eligble candidates can send there application so as to reach the concerned authority on or before 10 November 2014 or 25 November 2014 (for out of Mumbai Candidates).

Pay Scale: 

• Selected candidates would get salary on a Pay Band 1 of Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1900/ Rs.2000 per month

Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit

• Candidates who want to apply should be  minimum 18 years of age or below 30 years. [Maximum age limit is relax-able by 3 years for OBC category candidates & by 5 years for SC/ ST category candidates.]
• Educational Qualifications: 
• Candidates must possess matriculation or equivalent and Diploma/ Degree in the discipline/ skill and experience in the field and performances given on AIR/ Doordarshan etc. and won prizes at national level is desirable. Along with a Degree/ Diploma in relevant discipline (Bharatnatyam Dance/ Violin Player).

Selection Procedure:

• Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of candidate's performance in the Written Test, assessment of skills on the basis of practical demonstration, verification of testimonials & Prizes and Personality test/ Interview.
• The written examination will consist of objective type questions. Call letters for written Exam will be sent to eligible candidates. List of eligible candidates and updates will be displayed in the Western Railway website .Selected candidates will have to pass the requisite medical fitness standards test, prescribed for the post.
• Specific category and place of posting will be decided by the Western Railway Administration at the time of offering appointment to the selected candidate.
• Mode of selection, date, time and venue of selection process would be intimated to the shortlisted candidates by ordinary post.
• NOTE: Selected candidates, if posted in Clerical category would have to acquire typing skill -- speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi on Typewriter/  speed of 40 words per minute in English or 35 words per minute in Hindi on Computers -- within a period of 2 years.

• Interested and eligible candidates should send their applications, in the prescribed format, along with fee IPO in original, 3 passport size photos, two self-addressed, stamped envelopes and attested copies of required certificates/ documents/ testimonials by ordinary post to 'The Assistant Personnel Officer (Recruitment & Training), Western Railway, Headquarter Office, IIIrd floor, Old Building, Churchgate, Mumbai, (Maharashtra) Pin Code - 400 020' or drop it in the drop box provided at the said office premises on or before 10 November 2014/ 25 November 2014  till 1700 hours, as applicable.
• On the envelope containing the application, candidates should super-scribe 'Application for Recruitment against Cultural Quota" &"Employment Notice No. WR/ HQ/ R&T/ CULTURAL/ 1/ 2014-15".

 Fees: 

• Non-refundable examination fee of Rs.100 is to be paid through a crossed IPO drawn in favour of 'Chief Cashier, Western Railway, Mumbai', payable at Mumbai.
• Candidates should mention their Name and Address on the IPO.
• SC/ ST candidates, Women, Minority, Ex-servicemen, PWD candidates & candidates belonging to economically backward classes are exempted from payment of examination fees.
