CBSE invites renewal application for Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship

The Central Board of Secondary Education invites Renewal Application Forms from the eligible applicants who have been granted scholarship under Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship.

• The last date for receipt of Online Renewal Applications is December 15, 2014 and hard copy of the online application are to be submitted on or before December 31, 2014.
• College and University Students who were granted scholarship in - 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013 can apply for 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st renewal respectively.
• Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students by CBSE is meant  to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from low income families to meet a part of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies. 
• This scholarship is awarded on the basis of the results of senior secondary examinations. 82000 fresh scholarships per annum (41000 for boys and 41000 for girls) will be awarded for graduate/post graduate studies in colleges and universities and for professional courses, such as Medical, Engineering etc.

 Eligibility Criteria 

• The applicant should have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination 2014 conducted by CBSE and have secured the total aggregate marks (in first five subjects) equal or above the following minimum marks as per the stream opted by the applicant: 
• Science - 426; Commerce - 412; Others - 351.
• The applicant should be pursuing higher studies and have taken admission in Under Graduation regular course (not correspondence or distance mode) from recognized educational institutions/university in India.
• The applicant should not be availing any other scholarship.
• Total annual income of parents of the applicant from all sources should not exceed Rs.6 lakh per annum.
• The applicant should not belong to creamy layer as defined by DoP&T from time to time.

Scholarship amount and duration Graduation:

• Rs 1000/- per month for three years; to be disbursed lump sum amount of Rs 10,000/- at the end of the academic year. Post Graduation: Rs 2000/- per month for two years; to be disbursed lump sum amount of Rs 20,000/- at the end of the academic year.
• Number of scholarships to be distributed amongst Science, Commerce and Humanities stream applicants is in the ratio of 3:2:1. Reservation to SC, ST, OBC and PH will be as per guidelines of the Govt of India.
