The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has announced recruitment for Trainee Electrical Officers through walk-in interview to be conducted on August 28, 2014 at the head office in Mumbai. Candidates will be selected through direct contract for the SIC. Selected candidates will be hired as Trainee Electrical Officers for six months, after which (based on satisfactory performance), they will receive new contract as Electrical Officers. The SCI recruitment is available for both freshers and retired Indian Navy personnel.
Vacancies: Trainee Electrical Officers
Salary: Consolidated stipend of Rs 15,000 for six months.  
Eligibility
For Retired Indian Navy personnel: 
Age of the candidate should be 45 years or below. The candidate should have a B.E. degree/diploma awarded by the Indian Navy, be in possession of DGS approved ETO and have sailed as Chief Artificer (power side only) but not have sailing experience on Merchant Ships.
OR
Fresher candidates: Age of the candidate should be 30 years or below. The candidate should have a B.E. Electrical Engineering/B.E. Electronics degree and be in possession of DG approved ETO (without sailing Experience).
Note - B.E in Electronic and Telecommunication/communication or B.E in Telecommunication communication is not accepted.
Essential: The candidate must have a valid Indian CDC, Passport, Pan Card, INDOS No, PCC and have completed all required STCW courses including STSDSD from DGS approved institutes. Also, the candidate must be medically fit for sea service by SCI empanelled doctors and as per present medical rules.

Selection: 
Candidates will be selected for the posts on the basis of performance in a walk-in interview, provided the candidate is cleared as medically fit for sea service.

Candidates are required to bring original papers and copies of relevant certificates/documents to the walk-in interview.
