North Eastern Hill University, Shillong invites application for recruitment to various posts

The North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong has invited applications for recruitment on research fellow and field assistant posts. The NEHU was set up by an Act of Parliament and notified on July 19, 1973. The objectives of the university, as laid down in the Act, are "to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit; to pay special attention to the improvement of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people of the hill areas of the North-eastern region, and in particular, the intellectual, academic and cultural advancement".

1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF): 2 posts
2. Field Assistant: 1 post

Pay Scale:

1. For Post I: Rs 16000 per month plus 15 per cent HRA.
2. For Post II: Rs 6000 per month.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit: Candidates' age should not exceed 35 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per the rules.
2. Educational Qualification: For Post I - Eligible and interested candidate should have passed M.Sc. in Botany/Ecology/Environmental Sciences/ Forestry.
3. For Post II: Eligible and interested candidate should have passed Class 10 and have work experience in a laboratory.

5. Selection Procedure: An interview and a written test would be conducted to shortlist candidates.
