The State Council of Educational Research and Training, Punjab has invited applications for the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) - 2014. Interested and eligible candidates are required to apply on or before July 18, 2014.
PSTET details
- Paper I: For Classes I-V
- Paper II: For Classes VI-VIII
Eligibility criteria:
For Classes I-V (Primary Stage): The candidates should have passed their class 12th examination or its equivalent with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or should be appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
For Classes I-V (Primary Stage): The candidates should have passed their class 12th examination or its equivalent with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or should be appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Or the candidates should have passed class 12th examination with minimum 45 per cent marks and passed or should be appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
- Or the candidate should have cleared class 12th minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or should be appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/ 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Or the candidate should be a graduate and must have passed or should be appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
For Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage): The candidate should be a graduate and must have passed or should be appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Or the candidate should be a graduate with 50 per cent aggregate marks and must have passed or should be appearing for 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Or the candidate should be a graduate with 45 per cent aggregate marks and must have passed or should be appearing 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
- Or the candidate should be a graduate with 50 per cent aggregate marks and must have passed or should be appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Or the candidate should have cleared class 12th or its equivalent with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
- Or the candidate should be a graduate with 50 per cent aggregate marks and must have passed or should be appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
Application fees:
- In case the candidates wish to apply for either Paper I or Paper II, they are required to pay an application fee of Rs 600 (Rs 300 for SC/ST Category/Differently Abled candidates).
- In case the candidates wish to apply for both Paper I or Paper II, they are required to pay an application fee of Rs 1200 (Rs 600 for SC / ST Category/Differently Abled candidates).
- The fee can be paid through Challan or Credit/Debit Card. Ex-Servicemen Self-only candidates are exempted from payment of fees.
Selection process:
- Selection of the candidate will be made on the basis of their marks obtained in the written examination.

- Once the candidates have successfully submitted the online application they have to take a printout of the computer generated confirmation page and send to: Post Box No: 1828, Post Office Sector-62, Mohali, Punjab, Pin-160062
- The envelope containing the application should be superscribed as follows: APPLICATION FOR PSTET.

- Opening date of online applications: July 7, 2014
- Closing date of online applications: July 18, 2014
- Dates of deposit of fees: Between July 7, 2014 to July 19, 2014
- Last date of receipt of application forms: July 24, 2014
- Date of uploading of Admit cards: July 30, 2014
- Date of PSTET-I (Morning) and PSTET-II (Evening) Examination: August 10, 2014
